AI is moving at venture capital speed. Healthcare moves at regulatory speed. The gap between these two velocities isn’t just an inconvenience — it delays genuine improvements in patient care. Every month we spend stuck in validation limbo is a month where a better tool could have been in a clinician’s hands.
This is the problem that keeps me up at night. And in two days, I’m stepping onto a stage at Mobile World Congress to talk about how we’re closing it.
The Velocity Gap
Here’s what most people get wrong about AI in healthcare: they assume the bottleneck is technology. It’s not. The models work. The infrastructure exists. What’s missing is the bridge between how fast AI can evolve and how carefully healthcare must adopt it.
We’re not talking about how to write Epics or Acceptance Criteria with AI, or how to use spec-kit. This is something much more profound: changing our ways of working to fit the AI potential instead of forcing AI into existing processes that were designed for humans. In a nutshell, we want to drastically reduce lead times and amplify our talent’s capacity and experience to do more with less.
The question is no longer “Can AI improve healthcare?” It’s “How do we make it happen at the speed patients deserve, with the safety they require?”
That’s exactly what we’ll be tackling at Talent Arena 2026.
The Talk: Closing the Velocity Gap
On March 3rd at 9:30h CET, I’ll be sharing the stage with two incredible colleagues: Laura Vidal, Global Director of Portfolio and Product Management, and Nicole Arviv, Strategic Programs Leader, who will be moderating. Our session is called “Closing the Velocity Gap: Syncing AI and Innovation with Healthcare Adoption.”
I couldn’t ask for better people to share this stage with. Laura brings the strategic vision on how product portfolios evolve with AI, and Nicole has the superpowered ability to cut through complexity and ask the questions that actually matter. Together, I think we’ll deliver something genuinely useful.
We’ll dig into:
The velocity mismatch — Why AI innovation cycles and healthcare adoption cycles are fundamentally incompatible, and why that’s a solvable problem, not a permanent condition.
Process architecture for speed and safety — How we’ve shaped our development processes to accelerate innovation without sacrificing quality. This isn’t about cutting corners. It’s about eliminating the friction that doesn’t add value.
Organizational readiness — The cultural, technical, and procedural changes needed to make AI adoption sustainable. Technology is the easy part. Changing how teams work together is harder.
Can AI Actually Work in Regulated Environments?
I won’t go into full spoilers, but one of the pillars of our talk is how we enable agility in a highly regulated environment — and how we’re leveraging AI itself to help us accomplish this mission.
Our point of view is clear: years of experience in healthcare helped us shape a set of processes that ensure we do things the right way. Now the key question is how to do those things faster and even more reliably than before, with AI as the accelerant rather than the disruptor.
This isn’t about moving fast and breaking things. It’s about moving fast because nothing breaks.
Why This Matters Beyond Healthcare
Healthcare isn’t the only field wrestling with this velocity gap. Financial services, automotive, aerospace, pharma — if you’re trying to ship AI in a world that demands slow, careful validation, we’re dealing with the same problem.
If you’re tired of AI hype, this talk is for you. I’m not going to tell you AI will replace all of us by 2027 or show you yet another way of generating a cool video. (For context on how AI actually evolved to this point, see the two years that rewrote AI from 2024 to early 2026.) Instead, I’m going to talk about how to get most of AI to work in our favor and not against us, and most importantly, how this can have a very positive impact on your career.
See You in Barcelona
Talent Arena 2026 starts in two days. My session is March 3 at 9:30h CET, part of Mobile World Congress Barcelona. Our Digital Hub is in Sant Cugat del Vallès, just outside the city — come say hi at the Roche stand (March 2-4) if you want to talk shop.
If you can’t make it in person, I’ll publish a breakdown of our session insights here. Follow me on X or connect on LinkedIn to get notified when it drops.
I’m genuinely excited about this. Not in a “corporate speaking engagement” way. In a “finally get to talk about the work that matters to me with people who care about the same problems” way.
Are you dealing with the velocity gap in your organization? Whether it’s regulatory compliance, organizational inertia, or something else entirely, I’d love to hear your story. Reach out on X or LinkedIn.
